MARRIED // SUMMER & BEN

My last wedding of 2011.

And I seriously could not have asked for a more wonderful couple to celebrate the occasion with. Summer and Ben are world-changers. I don't say this lightly. I immediately felt lifted by the demeanor of Christ that they carried so strongly with them... first, just Summer, when we met for the consultation. But then, on their wedding day, the two of them together radiated the Love of Christ. These are all really big words. Huge compliments. Affectionate descriptions. But I mean it. I'd venture to say I've never seen two people so pure of heart united in love, founded on Christ.

I have to give big credit to my FABULOUS second shooter, Jessica Barley of a darling day. I couldn't have asked for a better partner in work. I'm so excited God has crossed our paths. You are amazing.

Summer and Ben,
Let me reiterate--I mean every word. Your wedding took place one week after a life-altering tragedy, and you--ON YOUR WEDDING DAY--ministered so much joy and love to me... your photographer. The Love of Christ has no bounds. December 17th, 2011, God used a bride and groom to send inexplicable joy and peace to me in a much needed time. Thank you for surrendering your lives to God. I may not know your history with Him or with each other, but I know for sure that if you continue to surrender your hearts and lives to Him, you will change the world around you. Thank you for the opportunity to capture such a precious day. It was an honor to celebrate alongside you what the Lord has brought to both a finality and a beginning. I pray His very best over your life.

ONE FRAME // DREW & MOLLIE

Since first working with them on Abbie's wedding, I have fallen in love with the Suskay family. I mean it when I say it, these people are the best I have ever met at celebrating life-long love. Their smiles, laughter, and dancing are all just so contagious--it was pure joy photographing their daughter's wedding.

That being said, when Ms. Suskay contacted me in the fall about photographing the wedding of their daughter, Mollie, I just knew I couldn't pass up the opportunity of working with their wonderful family again. Don't get me wrong--the choice was definitely hard; Mollie's wedding would be the SIXTEENTH wedding in-a-row I would shoot between the beginning of September and the end of November... (and, yes, if you do the math that's 16 weddings in 12 weekends... back to back).

My husband and I had a very unexpected and painful obstacle to endure at the beginning of December, leading us into the chaos of the holiday season, and by the time the new year rounded the corner, I was just starting to plow through all of the fabulous memories I captured at the end of 2011. Let me tell you--there is no better way to start off a new chapter in your life than by revisiting all the Lord has blessed you with in the last one. Although the workload was [more than] stressful, I was continually reminded--with each edit--of the faithfulness of God and His goodness that allowed me to connect with so many wonderful people last year... Mollie and Drew are certainly included in that group.

//

Mollie and Drew,
I just pray that the pictures do justice to what a romantic (candle-lit!) and FUN evening your wedding was. You two both exuded such a joy--and although it was indeed the Big Day, I have a feeling you exude that same joy every day. Thank you so much for allowing me to capture such a momentous occasion in your life. I certainly believe in you. You both seem to make the other [that much more] happy, and I know that with the two of you as one, you are certain to bring that same presence to those you encounter on life's journey. I pray that 2012 is one amazing year and kicks off a lifetime of joy and happiness!

Isn't this just a magical candle-lit ceremony?

MARRIED // ASHLEY & JOSH

Really, there are so many swoon-worthy photos from this wedding that words do little justice to what a beautiful day it was.

Ashley is by far one of the most elegant brides I have photographed (one of my favorite wedding dresses, as well!). This was also my very first wedding at Tryphena's Garden, and let me tell you, I had at it! It is such a supple, diverse place to shoot at. I loved the ceremony site--soaked with sunlight and framed by greenery--and the property offered SO MANY lovely places to photograph this stunning bride and groom.

//

Ashley and Josh, you carry an ease with you that this world lacks tremendously. From the first e-mails, to the Engagement Session, to the Big Day, you two were a breath of fresh air. It's as if the moment I stepped in to photograph you, I got swept away in the peace that exists when you two are together--couples like you make my job so very easy. I am so grateful our paths crossed--grateful I was chosen to document such a momentous occasion. I can't imagine the amount of influence you two will have on those around you. Keep that light, peaceful spirit at the core of your relationship. God has certainly given you something to treasure. I believe in the work that God is going to do through each of you as you begin this journey in life.

Enjoy, friends.
