ODE TO AUTUMN // EDITORIAL

If you love autumn.

If you love clothes.

If you love food.

If you love cabins, cool air, crisp sunshine warming your cardigan-covered skin.

If you love decorating, gardening, or lounging around your house.

If you love Pinterest and pretending like your life is as you imagine it.

.   .   .

This is for you.

There is very little that I could say to replicate the emotions you will feel from these images. I say this--well, every other session--but, this might just be my favorite work to date.

Pin-away, you Pinners.

Shop away, you shoppers.

Cook and bake, you chefs.

Savor the autumn breeze. If you do nothing else, posture your heart for gratitude as God reminds us of His role as extraordinary Creator.

.   .   .

Because, sometimes, it all makes so much sense.

.   .   .

SAVANNAH WEDDING // MELODY AND CHRIS

I have been overjoyed about this wedding since the day I heard of Melody and Chris' engagement!

You may recognize Melody and Chris from their lovely engagement session or the 70s Inspired Wedding (below) that they modeled for!

Melody and I grew up in the same church-camp-circle, and I've long been an admirer of her contagious personality and sweet heart for the Lord. Chris and Melody met at the first wedding I shot on Manual (photographers, you know how epic this is). Chris has attended the same church as me for a while now and I have had the privilege of working side-by-side with him and his brother, who own Munn Brothers Films. (Definitely head over and give them some love!) Anyone who's met Chris can attest that he is a man of a sweet, strong demeanor--a man any girl would be proud to see her friend marry!

//

For photographers: the exit shots have got to be some of my favorite I've ever captured. The room where the reception was held was nice and air-conditioned, so when I stepped outside into the [rainy, muggy, humid, hot] Georgia air, my lens fogged up. In a panic, I switched to manual focus and tried to get the best shots I could through the fog. The outcome? Dreamy images with colored light-fills and beautiful hazy bokeh. Oh, how I love happy mistakes!

//

Chris and Melody,

I truly cannot express the amount of love I have for you two as a couple. You compliment each other so perfectly. It was truly and honor to be able to experience and capture this day for you two. I pray God's very best over your marriage and can't imagine how beautiful the road is ahead of you. (I'm a little stingy and couldn't be more excited that you live close to me right now! Coffee date soon, Mel!)

Enjoy, friends.
