A blog post! Yay!

I cannot tell you how many people have requested a new post. I know, I know. You stalk this thing, and have been incredibly disappointed to find it unchanged in the past week or so. Well, my friends, there are many to be posted (tonight, hopefully!).

Last week, I had TEN photo sessions. Yes. Ten. Craziness. Sunday--one, Tuesday--one, Wednesday--three, Thursday--one, Friday--one, Saturday--three, Sunday--one. Eleven if you count both Sundays. Not to mention, as a photographer, it is very important that my clients receive their pictures. Just a little. And so, last week, I captured ten new wonderful people/families/couples, and turned around (mailed out!) eight. Busy--definitely. Happy-oh yeah. Thank you, fans. Thank you, clients. Thank you, Lord--Your tremendous blessings in this season are not taken for granted! Not a bit!

Wedding | Jenny & Jeremy

So, how blessed am I? Right in the middle of this beautiful fall season, I got asked by my dear friend, Beth Hyer, to shoot a wedding in Dahlonega, GA (the mountains) at a Castle! Beth is one of my favorite people in the whole world--in fact, I attribute so much of my growth in photography to her friendship. She rocks.

Anyways, the scenery is just breath-taking, and Jenny and Jeremy were a WONDERFUL couple to work with!

Couple Session | Haley & James

I was absolutely delighted to have the opportunity to capture Haley and James.

Come to find out, James actually went to high-school with my husband, Justin. I personally came to know Haley and James through my dear friend, Joy, who is James' sister.

The more I get to know Haley, the more I am discovering we are kindred spirits. Nature, art, and Brooke Fraser are among our common interests. ;)

A couple of months ago, I was helping my friend Joy move to Alabama, and stumbled upon a painting I just LOVED. Upon asking her about it, she informed me that her sister-in-law (Haley) painted. I then contacted Haley and preposed an "art-exchange", and she agreed! To see Haley's lovely work, visit her shop on etsy, Willowgrass Designs. (She also has a Facebook Page).

Thank you SO MUCH, Haley and James. I had a wonderful time hanging out with you two (we must have a double-date soon!). I absolutely LOVE these pictures.

Senior Session | Jonathan Miller

So, I'm going to be completely honest. The first couple of times I shot Senior Sessions for guys, I was extremely nervous before-hand, and equally floored at the results each time. It's just really difficult to find senior pictures of guys that aren't terribly cheesy, and I didn't want to be "that" photographer. Early on in the sessions, however, I was able to get these guys to loosen up a bit (and I think showing them how model-esque their pictures were turning out also helped!).

I now love doing Senior Sessions--guys or girls. These shoots have become some of my absolute favorites. :)

Jonathan was incredibly shy and could not force a smile to save his life. He found a method, though, and I ended up getting some really great shots of post-cheesy-smile genuine smiles.

I was able to implement some weird poses I had studied/invented for guy portraits, and Jonathan was a trooper, executing each one very naturally!
