BABY // GRAHAM

Baby Graham was such a sweet heart. Wide-eyed and curious for most of the session, I just couldn't get enough of his sweet little features, noises, and gestures.

The business has progressed to mostly weddings and engagements... those of which absolutely have my heart... but it's a treasured opportunity to get to photograph a newborn baby.

//

Beth (mom),
Thank you so very much for the opportunity to capture your sweet baby boy. It was a quiet morning and he was quite alert, but I just melted looking through the images from the session. He is the sweetest little thing. He's certain to grow up in a loving and caring home. I'm so blessed to have crossed paths with you and your family. As you know, embrace every precious moment in the next year! These pictures will serve as memories for years and years to come of his sweet beginning in this world. Praying God's very best over you and your family.

SWEET TOOTH // BABY GEORGIA

I had the honor of capturing Baby Georgia's first experience with cake (and well, sugar, at that).

It was certainly one of the most entertaining experiences I've had to date. She was reflexively terrified of the cake at first, but once she warmed up to it... she warmed up to it! By the end of the session, she was COVERED and having so much fun making a mess (and indulging in the chocolate cake) in the meantime.

It's an amazing thing to witness the growth of a child. I have been able to photograph the anticipation of Georgia's arrival (maternity pictures), her newborn photos, and now she is one year old... I can hardly believe it! I'm sure it's only an ounce of the wonder that parents feel.

Photographically, this is by far my favorite baby session to date. There's something so experiential and organic about these photos--like I wasn't even in the room. They are also about as close to film as I can get shooting digital, gracias to Pro VSCO Film Presets. I wont do this every time, but for those wondering about the process, this session was shot against a blank wall in their dining room... very little window light, and no indoor lighting. Shot with a 5D Mark II and a 50mm 1.2 lens. Predominately shot at f/2.5, ISO 1600. RAW files edited in Lightroom 3 with VSCO Film Presets: Fuji 400H, Faded+, Fuji Fading/Toning, and a bit of Orange Skin Fix.

Phillip and Jill, you have been extraordinary parents from the first time I met you--Georgia wasn't even here yet, but you were both so excited and pumped about having her! It was a wonderful experience to get to see you as brand new parents, still figuring out what each cry means--fascinated by every new expression she made. And most recently, it was all smiles and laughter watching you interact with Georgia and her continually developing personality! She is just as contagious to be around as the two of you--and I have no doubt that your journey as parents is going to continue in the direction it has started--full of love and joy. Thank you for setting an example for those around you. You truly have a beautiful family! I'm so excited about continuing to document your growth!

SUGAR AND SPICE // MILLIE & ADDIE

If there's a prize for most adorable children ever, Millie and Addie have claimed it.

I could not have enjoyed my time with Millie, Addie, and their sweet mom, Hannah.

Their family (including Dad, Sam) resides in England... pretty much a dream of mine. Over the past two years, I have acquired a sweet bunch of friends who all mentioned how [awesome] Hannah is at some point or another. I decided (although I was a complete stranger) to contact Hannah and let her know she's made quite an impact on the young women around me (and she has!). When Hannah contacted me and said she'd be visiting Georgia again in November, I jumped at every opportunity to hang out with her in person... including photographing her wonderful children.

//

Hannah, in the short time we've gotten to hang out, my only desire is that you didn't live so far away. You truly are such an inspiring mother and wife... you have a heart of gold, that's for sure. I pray God's very best over you and your family as you continue His Journey for you in England. Can't wait to see you again, but I'll be sure to keep in touch!

BABY // ELLY

I can't imagine how parents feel. Six months flew by so quickly. Last thing I know, I was photographing the sleepy, smiling, newborn... now here she is waving and laughing and sitting up straight and growing adorable little baby teeth!

Not to mention, just a couple of weeks ago, Fall was in "full bloom"... and now rumors of Christmas sales and Thanksgiving dinners have began to encroach upon me! Here I am, smack-dab in the middle of my favorite season of the year, working like a steam engine with a grateful heart for all that God has allowed me to capture.

Here are a few of my favorite frames of sweet baby Elly. I hope you all enjoy!

BABY // SWEET ADDISYN

Tiny toes. Little wrinkles. Subtle smirks.

Babies are such a gift.

Little Addisyn was wide-awake during her session, and was an absolute joy to capture. I just kept on "aww-ing" at her little movements, her adorable features.

Here are some of my favorites from the session:

Sneak Peak | Baby Elly

There are sessions that I would deem simply irresistible--those of which are IMPOSSIBLE to avoid posting a little peak into what is ahead.

This, obviously, is one of them. ♥

I'll have many more coming soon.

Enjoy, friends.

Baby Session | Erin

Big brown eyes. Contagious smile. Perfect little cheeks.

Baby Erin has got to be one of the cutest little ladies I have ever come across. When we started the session, she was asleep, and I was SO happy to be able to capture her little sleepy moment. When she woke up, she was bright eyed and so happy. The weather was perfect, and mommy had dressed her in the cutest little outfit.

I was ecstatic the entire session, continuing to show mom "sneak peaks" of the images we were getting. Mom, naturally, was enamored by the pure cuteness of her baby girl, and we "oohed and ahhed" together over this little creation.

This is what my job is all about.

We also took some pictures of Erin's cousin, who was a hoot. I'll be posting those pictures sometime in the next week.

Enjoy, friends. {♥}

Baby Session | Mayla Turns One

Mayla is one of the cutest babies ever. I love her little expressions, and she was one of my first baby sessions I ever did--crazy to think how far I have come in just one year!

I love the styling of these pictures--a HUGE thanks to Mommy Ariel and Granny! Perfect weather, adorable hipster styling, breathtakingly beautiful little baby. Couldn't ask for a better session!

Enjoy, friends. {♥}

{My favorite. I love the vintage hues, the sunshine, and her big blue eyes.}
